Full review

The Camco PowerGrip Surge Protector 30 Amp is a dedicated electrical safety device engineered specifically for RVs, travel trailers, and campers that rely on 30 amp shore power connections at campgrounds and RV parks. This unit plugs directly between your RV's power cord and the campground pedestal outlet, acting as a critical line of defense against the unpredictable electrical conditions often found at various hookup sites. Its primary job is to monitor incoming power for dangerous surges, spikes, and voltage irregularities that can occur due to faulty campground wiring, nearby lightning strikes, or sudden grid fluctuations, cutting off power before these issues can damage your RV's sensitive electrical systems, appliances, air conditioning unit, or onboard electronics.

Built with the rugged demands of RV travel in mind, this surge protector features Camco's signature PowerGrip handle design, which makes it noticeably easier to plug in and unplug from tight or awkward power pedestals compared to standard connectors. The housing is constructed to withstand outdoor exposure, resisting moisture, dust, and the general wear that comes from being packed, unpacked, and used at countless different campsites throughout a camping season. Indicator lights are incorporated into the unit so users can quickly verify proper grounding, confirm correct wiring polarity at the pedestal, and visually confirm that surge protection is active, giving campers immediate peace of mind before they even step inside their rig.

For RV owners and full-time travelers, this Camco surge protector represents a practical, affordable investment that helps prevent costly repair bills stemming from electrical faults at campgrounds, many of which have older or poorly maintained wiring infrastructure. It's a straightforward, set-it-and-forget-it accessory that integrates seamlessly into the routine of hooking up at a new site, requiring no complicated setup or monitoring beyond glancing at its diagnostic lights. Compact enough to store in an exterior compartment yet durable enough for frequent use, the PowerGrip 30 Amp Surge Protector has become a trusted staple among RVers who prioritize protecting their investment while enjoying the freedom of the open road.
